| The Ruebel Turn is working on one of the coldest days of 2016 so far, spotting a cut of cars at the sugar beet plant near Renville. The head end power is in sunshine as they pass the power for the Milbank Turn sitting idle on the siding. About a half mile away, the visibility is down to basically nothing as the steam from the plant is exacerbated by a strong northwest wind and below zero temperatures. The conductor on the ground reported being able to see only about 20 feet in any direction. This is one of those days to remind you that railroading in Minnesota in the winter is not for the faint of heart. |
