Steam in the Desert
Back during 3751's last grand tour of the west when the Grand Canyon Limited made its journey from LA to the Grand Canyon via some rare mileage I had the opportunity to chase her a good bit of the way with several friends. Here she is on day two of her epic journey.
Having laid over for the night in Parker she is on her way east on the AZCR mainline seen here climbing through Granite Wash Pass near MP56 framed by a Teddy Bear Cholla. This stretch of railroad is really the scenic highlight of the exceedingly unscenic 190 mile railroad! |
