Monson Railroad No. 3 steams alongside scenic Casco Bay near downtown Portland, Maine, during a rare winter run. No. 3 is owned by the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad & Museum, but has been leased to the SR&RL group at Phillips, Maine, where it will operate during the summer of 2016. This trackage is slated to be abandoned as the Maine Narrow Gauge collection is slated to be moved to Gray, Maine, by 2017. I had the great pleasure of meeting two railfans from Massachusetts, Joe and his son, while we were waiting for the train to arrive.
