20 Years ago today on February 1, 1996 a tragic derailment occurred here that took the life of two railroaders, Gil Ortiz and Kevin Williams "The two lower crosses". The tall middle cross is for Rudy Borrego "BNSF Engineer, LC and hill maintainer" who sadly lost his life after visiting the memorial site in a car accident in the Cajon Pass a couple years ago.
