Hurricane Irene Detour
In the months following the devastating effects of Hurricane Irene Metro North was forced to detour equipment moves over the NYS&W as a result of an 11 mile wash out on the Southern Tier. The first Eastbound move across the NYS&W is pictured here operating with two NJ Transit units for power along with a lengthy consists of coaches destined for 92 inspections at the MMC. These moves happened every other weekend or so and offered those in the area a rare chance to document passenger trains on an exclusively freight line. |
