February 3rd, 2016, would be one of the coldest days Flagstaff has had in nearly 30 years. When I got up, it was -7 degrees at 7AM. By the time I was trackside, it warmed up to zero degrees. On the east side of Flagstaff, an eastbound M BARBEL1 (Manifest train from Barstow, CA to Belen, NM) eases down the Arizona Divide towards Winslow with Mount Elden in the background.
