| A westbound Norfolk Southern freight passes under the ex-Norfolk & Western color position light (CPL) signals as it heads towards Roanoke. The stretch of the N&W between Lynchburg and Roanoke still has plenty of CPLs, but they will all come down in the next year as Amtrak and Positive Train Control come to the line. |
