Remarks & Notes

Photographers flocked to the UP of Michigan to see CNW's fleet of Alco C628's haul ore trains between Marquette and Escanaba. The fleet of EMD's that followed may not have been as photogenic, but could certainly hold heir own. SD40-2's were followed by SD50/60's and here we see a loaded train with three SD40-2's skirting the shores of Goose Lake on a splendid October day in 1988.
