Sunset literally and figuratively for GG-1s on the Broadway Limited, as the doubleheaded 4913 and 4912 are being prepared to be cut off for a trip to the motor track by Harris Tower. Note the fuel oil truck positioned to top off the tank on the head-end power (HEP) car. The HEP cars became necessary after Amtrak began equipping their trains with 480-volt HVAC systems; the Gs could only provide steam heat. No. 4913, built by PRR/GE in January, 1942 is today preserved in Altoona; the 4912 was scrapped.
