This is no April Fool's joke. A quartet of former Erie-Lackawanna Alco C425s arrived at BN's Interbay facilities en route from the newly formed Conrail to new owner BC Rail. BN handled the units west from Chicago and once out of Seattle, up to Vancouver, BC for delivery. Here they rest their heels in the company of x-CBQ GP30 2220 (CBQ 943, built 5/62). A BN engineer friend of mine got his hands on one of those CBQ Mars Light sets, wired it up in a portable box, and used to use it on the top of the low hood when running transfer jobs around Seattle's water front. He told me the Mars Light was more effective than the air horns in stopping traffic.
