THE GREAT TRAIN RACE
The feature event of the 2016 Transport Heritage Expo, the Great Train Race featured heritage 'red set' F1 on the Down Main, 4-6-0 steam locomotive 3642 on the Down Suburban, and MLW-built 4001 on the Down Local.

The three were running in parallel from Redfern/Macdonaldtown to Strathfield in Sydney's Inner Western suburbs.
