    Remarks & Notes
On a dreary day before Halloween, Amtrak's Empire Builder pulls into North La Crosse behind a trio of former Great Northern Fs, looking much like pre-Amtrak. This train would take me to Chicago for a job interview with C&NW on Halloween which would in turn lead to a twelve and a half year career with that carrier. I was the only candidate that arrived for the interview by train.
