| The Mid Hants Railway Diesel Gala in April was fraught with bad luck for the organisers. A landslip on the mainline between Alton and Fareham just two weeks before the gala prevented the convoy of visiting locomotives from reaching the railway. Then, class 33 no.33053 which was due to be returning to the railway after a lengthy overhaul was pulled due to further on going issues with the loco. Despite the set backs the railway managed to put on a good show with remaining home fleet. On the middle day of the gala, class 50 no.50027 'Lion' heads downhill between Ropley and Alresford in the last of the days light with the 16:20 Alton to Alresford service. |
