Union Pacific's Roper to Roseville manifest skirts the south shore of the Great Salt Lake on the former Western Pacific Railroad. SP SD40M-2 No. 8698 was built Chicago & North Western SD45 No. 908 in Feb. 1967 while UP SD40T-2 No. 4572 was built the SP 8339 in April 1979.
