Algoma Central 188 is a early model SD40-2 built in 1973. The quartet makes a tough looking consist outside the Algoma shop complex in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. I was somewhat amazed that even at this mid 90s date a photo release waiver could be signed to wander around the yard... I wish more photos of freight operations on the Algoma Central were out there. I suppose the lack of population and remoteness of this area of the continent deterred rail fanning of the Algoma.
