| After a quick and efficient meet with Q183 some 10 miles away in Hogansville, the all AC powered Q133 is now in LaGrange transitioning onto the Lineville subdivision.
The "LaGrange Connection Track" as its called on the timetable, came into service in 1999 as a result of CSX opening a new intermodal ramp in Fairburn, GA on the A&WP just southwest of Atlanta. This connection track allows double stack trains leaving that facility the flexibility of turning south at LaGrange and heading southeast towards Waycross and beyond. This relatively new right of way also allows trains or locomotive power the ability to wye themselves at LaGrange without much difficulty and provides an alternative route for traffic running between Atlanta and Manchester. |
