On this day in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, the BEDT was off to a rough start, but nothing that a few oak blocks couldn't handle, although repairing the track structure may have taken a little longer.
Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal #22 was built in 1947 as New Orleans and Lower Coast 9013, and renumbered as Missouri Pacific 6604 in 1961, before being acquired by BEDT via an equipment dealer in 1962.
The BEDT consolidated operations with New York Dock in 1979, and ceased operations in 1983. NY Cross Harbor and others have picked up some of the BEDT/NYDock operations.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
