Derelicts Burlington Northern GE C30-7 Nos. 5545 and 5549 sit on the north side of Nebraska’s Alliance yard on May 23, 2014. Both were heavily used in coal service for for much of their lives, but spent their later years as back-up generators for the Alliance Locomotive Shop. The two now wait their fate next to the derelict elevators off Platte Avenue that are probably waiting for a similar outcome.
