View down from the mountain on the 127 meter long and 53 meter high Ch?rstelenbach bridge at Amsteg, which is crossing the Bristen gorge. The Ch?rstelen creek is joining the Reuss, coming from the Gotthard region in the south, on the right behind the trees. The red diesel tilting train 612 # 901/902 of the Deutsche Bahn Systemtechnik, coupled with a RABDe 500 ICN of the SBB, is on a test run. The large buildings of the electric power plant Amsteg of the SBB from 1922 are not used anymore, the machine room with 3 pelton turbines and generators is relocated in a cavern in the mountain since 1998. 90 % of the power plant is owned by the SBB, 10 % by the canton Uri. Annual production is about 460 GWh.
