A night to remember. DRGW train 18, the Rio Grande Zephyr has arrived at Denver Union Station on the night of Dec 24, 1982 after having to fight a horrendous snow storm. To the left in the photo is Amtrak's San Francisco Zephyr, unable to progress further as the storm has halted all rail movement at least until the next day. Denver itself was almost completely shut down save for a few souls foolish enough to test their 4WD vehicles on unplowed streets.
