Late afternoon sun broke through to provide a bit of glint on an eastbound manifest at the causeway at Trout Creek on Montana Rail Link. The exhaust gives away the secret that this train is making a backup move. The detector just west of here was not operating properly, so MRL crews stopped the train, dropped off a crew member to inspect it, then backed up to retrieve him/her. This happened with a number of trains on October 3 and 4, leading to delays of 20-30 minutes.
