    Remarks & Notes
One of only 8 SW1001s left on Norfolk Southern's locomotive roster moves an SD60E onto the turntable at the backside of NS's Juniata Shops in Altoona. There were 9 SW1001s left on the NS until one was sold during an auction on August 18th, 2016 where something like 75 engines were auctioned off. Two more of these SW1001s are still in storage lines elsewhere on the system. And the remaining six are scattered through out the rest of the Norfolk Southern System. NS 2102 was built in November of 1973 as Reading 2612. It then made its way to the Conrail in 1976 (CR 2102) after the Reading went belly up. Then this engine made its way to NS (NS 2102) during the Conrail split. Then somehow managed to make its way to Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPLX 2102) then found its way back to the NS (NS 2102) where it still soldiers on as one of the Juniata Shop switchers nearly 43 years after being built.
