    Remarks & Notes
CNW 54, formerly Chicago Great Western, RS-2 idles in Huron , SD in early October 1980. At this time, the no. 54 was the last RS-2 active on CNW, assigned to Huron which was headquarters for most Alco power on the railroad. Green Bay was also a center for Alco power, with larger C628s assigned north of there in iron ore service. They replaced aging FM H16-66 "Baby Train Masters" in the mid-1970s.
