Time-travelers meet at The Pass. Passing through the yard at Cumbres Pass, the time-travelers aboard the Cumbres & Toltec's Train 216 experience one of the many flash-backs they'll have this trip, as they pass by a pristine little Model-T pick-up adorned with the D&RGW livery parked next to the tracks. After framing the two together, it was amusing to put my camera down and watch the mad scramble on board the train as dozens of folks on the platforms and in the train's open gondola struggled to get their lens caps off in time to get their own shot of this sweet piece. This vehicle, which is owned by a private individual, was on hand for the railroad's 2016 Narrow Gauge Rendezvous event. The owner was kind enough to allow it to be used for several unique photo opportunities during the weekend. The vehicle was not only nicely restored, but was equipped with all manner of authentic railroad memorabilia such as canvas water bags, lanterns, vintage oil cans and old soda-acid fire extinguishers.
