Portage La Prairie, MB is a special train watching location with the CN and CP transcontinental mainlines crossing each other in town and running parallel for a short distance. Here we have a westbound freight with white flags flying blasting by the CP depot. A switch crew had cleared out of the way just prior to its arrival. The depot used to serve the Canadian, but that now stops at the CN station, just behind the photographer's location.
