| Man-made lava pours out of a slag car on the Baiyin Non-Ferrous Metals Railway. This slag tip was relatively hard to get to and was not visited by many enthusiasts who stopped by Baiyin over the years. Fortunately, I made it out here once to see the tipping operation and it was well worth the two mile walk through factories. The tipping operation ended in July 2011, shortly after this picture was taken and the railway was replaced by special German trucks who now perform the same slag service. |
