Alaska is overwhelming. Sometimes it's hard to capture the scope of it when out shooting trains. The magic of drone photography has really helped with this by offering new wide and high perspectives. Here we see the Glacier Discovery passenger train rolling north out of the mile long Portage Tunnel on it journey home to Anchorage from the port city of Whittier.
Beside the train is the swift glacial fed waters of Portage Creek. Looking to the southeast past the highway bridge can be seen the glacial fed Portage Lake with Burns Glacier and Bard Peak rising beyond separating the valley from the Prince William sound just on the other side.
