    Remarks & Notes
    Bringing Home the Hook

On the Saturday one day after Conrail’s first birthday, I planned to spend the day recording Conrail at age one. The day turned out to be very dismal, but I did manage to catch the Allentown wreck train returning from the east. While the train was a normal fixture nest to the rip track and the car repair area, it was unusual to catch it out on the road. At this point, the train was still the Lehigh Valley Allentown wreck train with patched reporting marks. An ex Lehigh & Hudson River C420 and an ex-LV RS11 are bringing the train home. It appears that there are a few revenue cars, apparently from the derailment, tucked between the wreck train and the Conrail-painted ex-LV caboose. Getting this photo in a downpour caused me to be the wettest I’ve ever been with a camera draped from my neck.
