MILW 5056 spent many years in Milwaukee, WI before finally going to the Illinois RR Museum. Much of the time was spent on Jones Island and I was able to photograph it with several different Great Lakes freighters in the background. In this case, it's the Roger Blough, a 858 foot Laker launched in 1972. The Blough is somewhat unusual in that it was built to fit the new wider lock in the Soo, but was not a 1000 footer that became the standard. The Blough does have RR roots though as well, as the 2 Pielstick engines used to propel it were built by Fairbanks Morse in Beloit.
