| Conrail ME-47 runs nightly as a transfer from Metuchen Yard to Oak Island Yard and return. The train will occasionally run in daylight as an extra, especially on weekends or around holidays. In this case, the return of Monday evening's ME-47 to Metuchen was delayed. The ME-5 local crew was called to LANE interlocking to bring the train west to Metuchen. It is seen here approaching the busy eastbound platform at North Elizabeth station moments after entering the Northeast Corridor at LANE. The Newark skyline is obscured by the exhaust of the three older EMDs leading the train. |
