It is the last day of the year in Anchorage, AK. The weather isn't too bad a balmy 14 degrees everything looks good for a railfan photographer, well in most cases anyway, except this is Alaska in the winter. The chances of seeing a train during the limited daylight aren't good. In fact it has been over a week since a train was south of Anchorage during the daylight. But today was to be my lucky day. I managed to catch this northbound train at MP 91 at 1544 local time just minutes before the sunset. I guess you could say I ended 2016 on high note, a single train in daylight, a high note indeed.
