    Remarks & Notes
End door box cars were always uncommon. By 1979, they were even more so. Here a Conrail X41F-class example visits DeWitt yard. Built in 1946 as one of 200 PRR X41A-class double door, end door cars, Conrail 213567 was one of about 50 cars reclassified by the Pennsy in the mid-1960’s to X41F, and placed in dedicated felt service. Who would have thought that there was that much felt being shipped by rail?
