In the old days ... of DC traction on coal trains and of double track west of Gibbon. The triple-tracking project is underway but has not as yet touched the area around Lexington. In fact, CTC was only installed in the early 1990s as the train count climbed toward 100 a day. But CTC had minimal affect as to hold traffic in one direction or another for awhile was to create huge backups requiring the inevitable fleet of dogcatch vans heading down country to sweep up the short-timers. So, everything pretty much moved right along across the flat lands as this North Antelope Mine to Empire District Electric coal train was doing on a late winter afternoon.
Looking back down memory lane at the last generation of GE spartan cab which includes the six axles C series and four axles B series throughout the various of Class 1 Railroads in North America throughout the years.
