Southbound mini-bomb 1971 departs Waterbury station with the city's signature clock tower gleaming in the afternoon sunlight. The 1909 building was designed by McKim, Mead & White, who were known for a number of structures in the early 20th Century, including the original Pennsylvania Station in New York City. Waterbury's newspaper, the Republican-American, now occupies the former station.
