| A westbound empty coal train is about 11 miles from Creston. Here the train snakes out of the Grand River Valley in south-central Iowa near Afton. The SD70MAC's have an uncertain future. Early in 2017 only about 100 of them were in service, and none have received PTC upgrades. The late 90's and most of 2000's, these units were the backbone for the BNSF coal service. |
