An eastbound on Union Pacific's Council Bluffs Sub has just crossed the Elkhorn River and is climbing the short hill out of the Platte River valley. With the introduction of distributed power, most of these trains now operate on the C&NW's Blair Cutoff east of Fremont instead of on this route.
