| The Class EH800 is so developed to work for the 1435/1067mm dual-gauge Seikan tunnel under the Tsugaru channel where the freight and Shinkansen trains share the tracks. The class EH800 is compatible with Shinkansen ATC system, and has replaced ED79 and EH500 when the Hokkaido Shinkansen opened in March 2016. |
