“Danger Close” AEM7 AMTK 942 leads (what appears to be) Amtrak’s Fast Mail south on No. 3 Track, past the neighborhood of Harewood Park, just south of GUNPOW interlocking (mp 79.3) on the Northeast Corridor.
Now, while the AEM7 doesn’t look particularly close (I guess about 50 feet away at shutter release), realize that–at 125 mph, the train will dispense with those 50 feet in little more than one-quarter second (0.273 sec, to be exact).
