"Due to Amtrak Track Work at Princeton Junction...": On Sunday, January 29, 2017, Amtrak crews performed work on Track 4 at Princeton Junction as part of the New Jersey High-Speed Rail Improvement Project. With this work, westbound trains were required to use a temporary low level platform at the east end of the station. In order to signal to engineers on passing trains to sound their horns and alert track crews of their presence, Amtrak workers with whistle signs were placed at both ends of the Track 1 platform. With this track work, the Princeton Branch was taken out of service for the weekend and the Arrow III set used for the Dinky was placed in the storage pen at the east end of the station and its pantographs were lowered from the catenary wire.
Here, ALP-46A #4641 passes an Amtrak ballast spreader and the stored Dinky trainset as it arrives on Track 3 with Northeast Corridor Line train #7849.
