      Remarks & Notes
The old and the new in focus. Originally opening in 1896, Portland, Oregon's Union Station has hosted a variety of railroads and their interesting motive power over the years, and today, it got a chance to welcome another in testing service. Though the 4611 is currently testing and not currently handling any revenue, this trip is the first for the Siemens SC-44 Charger series on the helm over Amtrak Cascades territory. It would continue south to Eugene after passing the photographer and crossing the Steel Bridge.

From Vancouver, BC, to Eugene, OR, this route runs along stretches of Puget Sound and the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. The TALGO trainsets that were the line's backbone for many years were withdrawn from service after they were cited in the 2017 crash

Tier IV locomotives are the safest, cleanest, and most fuel efficient locomotives on the rails today. Unfortunately, most of them are ugly and are as quiet as an ACS-64.

Amtrak & Via Rail, along with commuter trains go here. Also their predecessors. PS. I only like diesels or electric.
