Long Hood Forward Special Duty
Due to the volume of work at Sparta Junction over the winter the NYSW operates a job out of Sparta with the sole purpose of switching Sparta Junction. An unusual winter edition of the Sparta Turn (originates at Ridgefield Park and runs West to Sparta eventually running back East to Ridgefield Park) had been dispatched and outlawed in Sparta that night. The SJ-1 job was pushed back 12 hours to relieve this crew, finish switching Sparta Junction and run their train back East to Ridgefield Park. Powering this local was the railroads only active SD45 making matters that much more interesting.
