Remarks & Notes

Penn Central's U33Cs were the first locomotives to be delivered from the factory in PC black, ordered by the PRR but arriving during PC's first month. On a winter afternoon, one-year-old 6553 and an SD35 mate prepared to depart the West Springfield, MA, yard for a westbound run over the Berkshires on the former Boston & Albany line.
