When they proved unreliable in intercity service on the New Haven-Springfield line, the Budd SPV-2000s purchased by Connecticut DOT for Amtrak worked briefly for Metro North in branchline service before eventually being converted to unpowered coaches. This SPV was southbound along the Naugatuck River at Beacon Falls, CT, on a Metro North Waterbury-Bridgeport run.
