Vermonter 55 heads south through Wallingford on a chilly Monday afternoon. On the following day, during winter storm Stella, Amtrak P42DC 1 was on a northbound plow extra in Longmeadow, Massachusetts when it collided with a plow truck, killing the driver. The locomotive sustained significant damage.
