A westbound freight train back in August 1996 is carrying power that really doesn't exist much anymore on the UP. A Pair of SD9043 and a pair of "ZZ-tops" roll a westbound at Chelsea. Back in 1996 the UP hadn't gotten their hands very far into the CNW yet, but the changes were coming soon. The 9043's have been stored or sent off property now, and the CNW's are repainted and probably stored too. Chelsea is located in central Iowa between Marshalltown and Cedar Rapids on the ex-CNW double main thru Iowa.
GE manufactured safety cab locomotives, refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_GE_locomotives for a complete list.
