The last regular assignment for the New Haven's Alco cab units was Boston-Lowell-Boston turnaround job BL-1/LB-2, which took a roundabout route from the NH's South Boston yard to a B&M interchange in Lowell via Walpole and Framingham, MA. Southbound LB-2 worked the Framingham yard behind a classic if weatherbeaten A-B-B-A set on an April 1969 morning. Penn Central is now in charge, as seen by the renumbering of the last three units.
