      Remarks & Notes
BN 474, a vintage NW2 is parked at Stacy St. Yard with celebrity caboose, BN 11444. This one of a kind caboose was built by Great Northern at St. Cloud, MN shops as a prototype that led to their X1-X30 series of sloped cupola cabooses. They got a bit extreme on this one, with a curved cupola profile. The idea was to cut wind resistance and keep snow from blocking the windows in foul weather. This one looks a bit like they welded a few Volkswagen beetle bodies together to attain the shape. The X1-X30 series had a straight line sheet metal slope on the front and back of the cupola.
