MILW E9 no. 35C gets its face washed at North La Crosse, WI as the North Coast Hiawatha (Amtrak) makes a station stop for passengers, a crew change, and water for the locomotive tanks. During the spring mayflies hatch along the upper Mississippi River valley and can cause havoc on windshields, which could be one reason the railroad is giving the nose/windshields a wash.
