| Steam Inc vintage train on charter run to Whangarei is headed by Da 1431. The 200Km line through rustic and rugged countryside has been threatened with closure for years and rumor has this as probably being the last passenger train on the line with speed restricted to just 40 Km/h. Such are the roads in the region that even at this speed it's difficult to keep up with trains. 1431 was built by Clyde, NSW in 1957 and sold to Steam Incorporated in 1988. |
