Rio Grande train 179, the Ford Fast Freight, grinds westward along the Arkansas River in Texas Creek, Colorado. Although the heart of the grade over Tennessee Pass is still about fifty miles ahead, the climb to get there has already limited this hot 59 car train to a pace that allowed several photo opportunities between here and Salida.
